Getting serious

New Year, new plan.  Or maybe guts.  Anyway, I'm truly getting this going, no more holidays to make excuses! Bear with me as I work on making the page cool!!!

As I embark on this new journey, I figured I'd start off by posting some of my work that isn't totally related to my own children.  As I hopefully shoot other families and gigs, I'll post each session to build my portfolio!

Let me share a little insight to my inspiration to my hobby turned passion with samples of my work.

Being a mom myself, there's nothing I cherish more than a framed photo of all of us together, no one with an extended arm.  It truly is a joy to just see everyone together and then years later look how much the children have grown. Maybe it's the weekend the young cousins all hung out during the summer, or the weekend before your child shipped off into adulthood or the squinty smile your toddler, now grade school student captured timelessly in a single snap.  A simple photo can mean so much to so many people.  My main focus in my photography career would be children and family portraits.

Yay! You're expecting! now quick! document it before it's over... that way, years later, you can show your children what mommy & daddy looked like before they came into your lives.  My gorgeous mommies to be friends modeled some of those bellies over the last few years.

Couples.  Rather your relationship is new, you're engaged, or you've been married for a few years, I feel it is important to have a photograph of you and your special one during the different seasons of life.  One day when you're renewing your wedding vows, the photos over time will mean so much to you.

Graduation.  Whether high school or college, or pre-k for those littles...it is an important memory!

Then there was the one wedding I did! It was the wedding of two very special friends of mine, though as a photographer, it was nerve wracking, but they (and I) wouldn't have had it any other way!

Work in Progress

Fueled by further unemployment & my bestie Jessi's continuous encouragement, here we go.  Maybe mini-family sessions for holiday cards to get this thing started.  Bear with me as I make this look pretty, first!
